Grace is an award-winning Signature Member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, and longtime member of our cooperative, lighting up our walls with her masterful portraits, landscapes, and still life works. Grace grew up in an artistic family, and was introduced to pastels at an early age. Her father worked as an animator for Disney, including on the timeless classic, Fantasia, and by the time Grace was twelve, she already worked for him inking images on “cells” for animated commercials. She has studied and worked in pastels throughout her entire life and continues to follow her passion through her art, pastel publications, artist groups, and demonstrations. She paints a variety of subjects in an impressionistic style, with an emphasis on the effect of light and color, but she especially loves birds and flowers. She is never bored when surrounded by nature, and is right at home in the silence of open spaces under Colorado’s big western skies.
